eSpace is a portal for digital content as well as a nework of content-producing communities. eSpace is a WordPress 3.1x network running on a Macintosh Xserve. The template is Atahualpa 3.x by BytesForAll. Atahualpa was chosen to enable a broad configuration palette for the sub portals (sponsored communities) that run on the same instance as the main eSpace site. We designed eSpace 2.0 to have a very neutral look to it yet still sporting Ball State colors. Sponsored communities are free to tweak their sites.
The server is maintained by the Center for Technology in Education and hosted at Ball State’s Unified Technology Services.
We use various plugins from the WordPress open source community. Some plugins are provided as a free license. We encourage our clients to help donate to those developers for the functionalities they have provided us in eSpace.
