Abstract:
This is a presentation that demonstrates one way to conduct an ISTAR assessment. We created a workshop for our classmates on how to administer an ISTAR test. In our presentation, we explained what ISTAR is, the differences between ISTAR and ISTEP, and taught our class how to administer an ISTAR test. After we explained how ISTAR tests are administered, we gave our class an opportunity to practice evaluating real students ISTAR data. To create this presentation, we worked with some students with disabilities and completed activities to use for our ISTAR testing data. While we worked with the students, we videotaped them completing the activities that aligned with ISTAR standards. Then, we put all of the videos of the students work on iPads to use during our presentation. During our presentation, we split our class into small groups and gave each group an iPad with videos of the students. Then, our classmates had to evaluate the students’ work and record their ISTAR data.
