Every Student Succeeds Act

This resource was created by Ball State University Juniors Emily Folland, Paige Pohlmann, and Jenna James. The resource consists of a presentation about the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). In the presentation, we detail background information that brought about the change from No Child Left Behind (NCLB) to ESSA, information regarding what ESSA actually is, and an explanation about how this new law will affect teachers. In order to conduct our research, we interviewed Jim Folland who is a current high school, and Rick Doss who is a director of secondary education in an Indianapolis school district. In addition, we also surveyed 16 teachers ranging from elementary to university level using an online Ball State survey to gain opinions from them as well.
