On April 11, 2016 an article was written regarding the new law that is to replace No Child Left Behind. Every Student Succeeds Act, or ESSA is to do a number of things. Currently a few tweaks are being worked out with the law. One concern that is addressed in this article focuses on how students, especially receiving ELL services and Special Education, will be tested. Another concern that is to be worked out involves federal spending. This law is to be focused more on the state and local level, rather than the federal level. Therefore making it difficult to determine how federal money will be used. The fairly new law is still working out its details, and the committee members plan to meet again to discuss the important details.
