A Best Practice would likely have one or more of the following characteristics&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promotes student collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates high quality student work worthy of an audience beyond educators and parents<\/li>\n<li>Incorporates standards-based, student-engaged assessments<\/li>\n<li>Incorporates families and the greater community into the learning process<\/li>\n<li>Challenges students to engage in deeper, long-term learning with the rigor needed for college and career readiness<\/li>\n<li>Addresses a school or classroom goal or a student need<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0works and there is evidence that it works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who can submit a Best Practice?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Any BSU partner is\u00a0invited to participate. \u00a0BSU Professional Development Schools, BSU Partnership Schools, BSU Charter Schools, Burris Laboratory School, and Indiana Academy faculty and staff are encouraged\u00a0to submit Best Practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Can a team\u00a0submit a Best Practice?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes! \u00a0You may submit an individual project, a project that represents a grade level, team, or group, or even a whole-school project. One person will need to be noted as the primary contact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who decides what a Best Practice is?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is up to the school that is represented to decide whether or not what is submitted\u00a0is a Best Practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Do I need to have an administrator&#8217;s approval to submit to the Best Practices Showcase?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The final decision on whether or not a Best Practice should be submitted rests with the site. \u00a0It may be an administrator, a site committee, or other process that you use to determine whether or not a practice represents the school. \u00a0You will be asked on your submission form to state how this was done. Just click the appropriate answer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why are there 2 descriptions of the project&#8211;one 150 word description and another, longer one?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The 150 word description you write will be used in the Best Practices Conference\u00a0program. \u00a0It is brief, to alert participants to displays they will want to see as well\u00a0as a reminder for those who attend and\u00a0may wish to contact you later. \u00a0Both\u00a0descriptions will be published on the Best Practices Showcase website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who participates in the Best Practice Conference?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anyone who submits to the\u00a0Best Practices Showcase website is invited to participate in the culminating Best Practices Conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What may be considered as evidence to support a Best Practice?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evidence may be a comparison of assessments to show growth (such as spreadsheets, graphs, etc), records to show increased participation, anecdotal feedback, student work samples, photos, video, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Can I submit more than 1 piece of evidence?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes! You can attach multiple examples. \u00a0You may attach multiple items at a time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What if my file is too large to attach?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Upload File Size\" href=\"http:\/\/espace.bsu.edu\/bestpractices\/2015-showcase\/upload-file-size\/\">Click here<\/a> and find out more about over-sized files.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Can I add information to a previous submission?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes! As your Best Practice continues to be implemented and revised, we hope your submission will be updated with additional feedback and evidence.
