In the 2014 spring semester, BSU held a Graduate Research Symposium on a range of topics corresponding to Education studies. It culminated with a keynote speech from Dr. Yong Zhao. Zhao is the Director of the Institute for Global and Online Education at the University of Oregon. He is an internationally known scholar focusing on globalization and technology in education.
Graduate Research Symposium
Seven doctoral students were selected to give 10-minute seminars on their own graduate work. The CTE helped developed posters for each of the speakers and then had a poster showcase in the iStudio in TC 217 to help spread information about the event. This end-of-the year research showcase was designed to encourage discourse, collaboration, and outreach to schools.
The departments that the student speakers represented included: the Department of Educational Leadership; Adult, Higher, and Community Education; Higher Education Concentration; Counseling Psychology; Department of Educational Studies; Educational Psychology; and Educational Leadership.
Documentary Production

Other events
In addition to these CTE-facilitated events, Dr. Zhao spoke at three other events:
