Video Meta Reflection (VMR). In this initiative, teacher education majors capture and edit video during their practica and student teaching experiences. VMR was developed with undergraduate students in 2007-08 as a method to capture performance, reflect via edit to thematic structures, and communicate via web exhibits that consist of other media assets from the experience. The CTE has been supporting numerous faculty with VMR infusion their teaching. Most significantly in the past academic year, Ms. Margot Williams, an Instructor for EDEL 350, coordinated a full-scale adoption of VMR in her EDEL Practicum in Burris. CTE staff and students team-taught VMR with Ms. Williams and developed an instructional support model for the students. Students in EDTEC 485 (School Information Infrastructures) designed a school-based model for videography at Burris, and Dr. Mike Modesitt coordinated the infrastructure requirements of VMR with the other classroom observation initiatives at Burris. The result was an accelerated infusion of video production skills for future elementary students as evidenced by their videos in their digital portfolios.
