Using Promethean ActiVote in the Classroom<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visit the iStudio (WQ 404) to download the software!<\/p>\n

1. Download the ActivInspire software.<\/p>\n

2. Connect the ActivHub to a USB drive to a computer.<\/p>\n

3. Open up ActivInspire. It will look something like this:<\/p>\n

The Question mark starts the Express Poll.<\/p>\n

5. Pressing Express Poll will pop up a new tool bar:<\/p>\n

Clicking on the four dots with the checkmark allow one to ask a multiple choice question.<\/p>\n

Clicking on the checkmark and x will allows one to ask yes\/no-true\/false questions.<\/p>\n

The gear allows more access to Actions:<\/p>\n

Bulls-eye allows the choice of ActiVote or ActivExpression. Choose the clicker being used.<\/p>\n

X closes<\/p>\n

The ActiVote with an Id assigns students to a specific ActiVote.<\/p>\n

The Clipboard registers the ActiVotes to the hub. (should be ready)<\/p>\n

6. Type the question on the flip chart and then click to ask a multiple choice question or yes\/no-true\/false question. A screen similar to<\/p>\n

7. Click the up and down arrow to set how long the students can answer the question.<\/p>\n

8. Have the students double click their answer.<\/p>\n

9.When the student answers their ActiVote number turns yellow:<\/p>\n

When time is up an alert is sent if all students have not yet finished. To give them more time, click yes or no. Extending time is left to each teacher’s sense of the classroom’s needs.<\/p>\n
