Using Promethean ActivExpression in the Classroom<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visit us at the iStudio (WQ 404) to download the software!<\/p>\n

1. Download the ActivInspire software.<\/p>\n

2. Connect the ActivHub to a USB drive to a computer.<\/p>\n

3. Open up ActivInspire. Will look something like this:<\/p>\n

4. Tool bars includes: (if you scroll over each tool it will say what it is)<\/p>\n

The Question mark is what is need to start the Express Poll.<\/p>\n

5. Once you press Express Poll it will pop up a new tool bar:<\/p>\n

Clicking on the four dots with the check mark will allow you to ask a multiple choice question.<\/p>\n

Clicking on the two dots with the curved arrow allows you to ask sort in order question.<\/p>\n

Clicking on the check mark and x will allow you to ask yes\/no-true\/false questions.<\/p>\n

The gear allows you to access more Actions:<\/p>\n

Bulls-eye allows you to choose ActiVote or ActivExpression. Choose which clickers you are using.<\/p>\n

X is to close<\/p>\n

The ActiVote with an Id is to assign students to a specific ActiVote.<\/p>\n

The Clipboard is to register the ActiVotes to the hub. (Already should be ready to go)<\/p>\n

The \u00a0four white dots and one green dot with arrow pointing towards them allows you to ask a Likert scale question.<\/p>\n

The 123 will allow you to ask a number question.<\/p>\n

The ABC will allow you to ask them a text question.<\/p>\n

6. Type the question on the flip chart and then click whether you would like to ask a text question. Then as screen similar to this will appear:<\/p>\n

7. Click the up and down arrow to set how long the students can answer the question. (if you just click the green arrow it will allow you to start the question and then stop it whenever you want to)<\/p>\n

8. Have the students answer the question.<\/p>\n

9.When the student answers their ActiVote number should be yellow:<\/p>\n

10. When time is up this will appear you can decide if you would like them to retry its up to you.<\/p>\n

11. When the question is all over it will give you a write up of how the students answered. You can change the format of how you view it in the drop down menu.<\/p>\n
