According to the Colorado DOE, Response to Intervention is defined as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> \u201c&#8230; an approach that promotes a well-integrated system connecting general, compensatory, gifted, and special education in providing high quality, standards-based instruction\/intervention that is matched to students\u2019 academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. A continuum of intervention tiers with increasing levels of intensity and duration is central to RtI. Collaborative educational decisions are based on data derived from frequent monitoring of student performance and rate of learning.\u201d (\u201cIndicators of rti,\u201d 2007, pg.1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The tool outlined in the article will allow educators and schools to facilitate and monitor systematic implementation of the RTI model.
