This initiative has four primary purposes: 1) \u201cPlace the use of robust, timely performance data at the core of decision and policymaking in education\u201d; 2) \u201cReduce state and district data burden and streamline data practices\u201d; 3) \u201cImprove state data capabilities by providing resources and technical assistance\u201d; 4) \u201cProvide data for planning, policy, and management at the federal, state, and local levels\u201d (ED.gov, 2012).
