In the 2014 spring semester, BSU held a Graduate Research Symposium on a range of topics corresponding to Education studies. It culminated with a keynote speech from Dr. Yong Zhao.<\/a> Zhao is the Director of the Institute for Global and Online Education<\/a> at the University of Oregon<\/a>. He is an internationally known scholar focusing on globalization and technology in education.<\/p>\n

Graduate Research Symposium<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seven doctoral students were selected to give 10-minute seminars on their own graduate work. The CTE<\/a> helped developed posters for each of the speakers and then had a poster showcase in the iStudio in TC 217 to help spread information about the event. This end-of-the year research showcase was designed to encourage discourse, collaboration, and outreach to schools.<\/p>\n

The departments that the student speakers represented included: the Department of Educational Leadership; Adult, Higher, and Community Education; Higher Education Concentration; Counseling Psychology; Department of Educational Studies; Educational Psychology; and Educational Leadership.<\/p>\n

Documentary Production<\/strong><\/p>\n

The other role the CTE had was to produce a video from the events. The video from the evening lecture was produced in partnership with the Ball State Teleplex<\/a>.<\/p>\n
