I made this lesson plan for my SPCE 266 Practicum. The lesson plan was made for a small group of 7th and 8th graders. This lesson plan focuses on writing, and tips for becoming a better writer.
Rationale:
The InTASC Standard I used was number 7, this is based on the idea of planning for instruction. This standard states that the teacher plans a lesson and then supports every student in meeting the learning goals. I did this by focusing on my knowledge of the content and the curriculum that they were being taught by the special education teacher.
I also aligned this lesson plan to InTASC number 1, which is the focus of a learner’s development. This standard is all about a teacher understanding their student’s growth and development. With this lesson plan I was able to view previous writing assignments, to the assignment that I presented during class. I was able to have a visual comparison to see if each student showed growth after my lesson.
