A teacher needs to be able to keep their students attention. They have to make sure that students preform at the skill level they should for that grade. They need to make sure students can participate in group work while also having the skills to be able to work independently.
The person I chose for this standard is was my 4th grade teacher Mrs. Lowe. We would practice I-STEP skills all of the time. Critical thinking, problem solving are huge skills that every child needs. Those skills are used in elementary school, middle school, high school, and in the work force. Theses skills help children work individually as well as working in a group. It is important for this to be taught at a young age so as you get older you can build off of those skills.
