The teacher plans instruction based upon knowledge of subject matter, students, the community, and curriculum goals.

SPCE 201, Fall 2013, DP1

This means everything we do in the classroom relates to what we are learning at that particular time. It means that when a parent asks you what you did in school today and you tell them they would not question why you are doing it. If they do question it you will be able to tell them exactly how it relates the unit.

The person I chose that reflects this was my High School Geography and Government teacher- Mr. Milharcic. Everything in his class had a purpose, we would watch movies such as Goal, and Remember the Titans. However, we would then receive a paper listing how it fits into the unit. We would take this and write a paper giving quotes and examples of how that movie fit into the unit. It is a way of doing something fun but having a reason to do it.
