Teachers give the normal graded assignments. Then you have those other assignment such as practice problems and group work. Which are for completion where you are learning or practicing the material and do not have to worry about accuracy. It is a way of learning but not being too strenuous. It is a way to measure the progress of each student. These give students the time to get as much help as they need.

The person I think resemble this the most is my High School Trigonometry teacher- Mr. Johnson. We would have a day after each lesson and before the test called “worksheet” day. We could do this anyway we wanted we could do it with him, by ourselves, or with other students the only rule was the worksheet had to be done by the end of class. This gave us room to get all of our questions asked by Mr. Johnson or by our classmates to insure we knew that material. We could work on each section for as long as we needed.
