Sponsored Projects

Since the creation of the Research Design Studio, graduate students and their faculty mentors have worked with individual researchers, foundations, federal agencies, and private corporations to design and implement high-quality research studies.

Below you will find a list of ongoing research studies that are seeking to learn more about the thoughts and opinions of educators, students, and members of the general public.

Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI)

si

One of our projects at the Research Design Studio is supporting the National Museum of the American Indian’s National Education Initiative called Native Knowledge 360º. NMAI is creating new materials for teachers and students to use in classrooms to ensure students have access to culturally accurate and appropriate information examining the history and culture of Native Americans in the U.S.

To ensure these educational materials best support the needs of students and educations, the National Museum of the American Indian is currently seeking educators and students who would be willing to share their opinions on the current state of educational materials related to the teaching of the Native American history and cultures. For a limited time, we can offer educators and members of the general public an $5 electronic gift card to share their thoughts and opinions. This offer is limited to the 200 respondents to complete the educator and community surveys. Directions regarding how to receive your incentive will be provided at the end of the survey.

Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum

The National Air and Space Museum (NASM) has designed and implemented multiple educational programs designed ensure students and educators across the country have access to high-quality educational experiences. The NASM is currently seeking students and educators to share their perceptions of program materials and learning resources.

Moving Beyond Earth

Moving Beyond Earth is an immersive exhibition designed to introduce NASM visitors to contemporary events in human spaceflight as well as the future possibilities of space travel through the presentation of artifacts, live events, broadcasts, and webcasts.

To increase the quality of the exhibition, the National Air and Space Museum is seeking individuals to complete an online survey designed to introduce respondents to Moving Beyond Earth while exploring their thoughts and opinions.

For a limited time, we offer individuals an $5 electronic gift card to share their thoughts and opinions about the Moving Beyond Earth Exhibition. This offer is limited to the 200 respondents to complete the survey. Directions regarding how to receive your incentive will be provided at the end of the survey.
