Ball State University
This presentation aims to showcase an assessment-informed unit of instruction intended for a fourth-grade class. In this unit, fourth graders will be exploring stories and folktales from other countries that have a similar American counterpart. This unit will be largely focusing on reading and writing, in addition to technology. In this unit, students will learn how to summarize stories, describe characters and events, compare and contrast similar themes, and how to write informative compositions. The end goal of this unit will be the students creating a digital exhibit of their chosen stories on Google Sites, giving a summary of both of their stories, comparing and contrasting the stories, and describing how the cultures impacted the stories.
