The 2020 Department of Educational Psychology Research Symposium is now a Festival!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we decided\/needed to conduct our annual\u2013mostly internal\u2013research symposium online, it changed how we thought of the whole event. Being online meant we could now reach a much broader audience. Given that, we could engage them differently, explore new dimensions of the learning sciences, and pursue new connections. And we would also need a theme…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s theme is Connectedness<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We didn’t choose this theme as much as it chose us. In this festival, we’ll bring you the sciences of learning, some new teacher practices, and some creative expressions on the theme of Connectedness. Besides research presentations from our department’s students and faculty, we’ve invited teacher education students and faculty to join us. And we’ve invited scholars from Ball State’s School of Art to extend our minds further than the field of educational psychology could alone. And we welcome more presentations and exhibits<\/a> <\/strong>from other scientists, artists, teachers and hybrids of the three to present. We’re not sure how big we can make this grassroots, zero-budget event, but we’ll take in what we can until we hit our capacities for this year’s single-day event. If all goes well, we’ll have to do this festival again. And that would be a welcome challenge to pursue with all our new friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once we harvest all the content that seeks a place at this table, everyone is welcome at attend the festival, which will be online on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. We need you to register in advance<\/a><\/strong> so that we can manage the experience for everyone. We ask that you attend as many presentations and exhibits as you can so that all the scholar-educators and scholar-artists who have put in time and effort to this event can meet you too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
