{"id":656,"date":"2020-11-11T19:35:45","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T14:35:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/espace.bsu.edu\/sonar\/?p=656"},"modified":"2021-01-21T18:36:47","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T13:36:47","slug":"kiaras-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/espace.bsu.edu\/sonar\/656\/","title":{"rendered":"Perceptions About Pursuing Teaching as a Career"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><u>Study Title<\/u><\/strong>: Perceptions About Pursuing Teaching as a Career: Using the Fit-Choice Scale Among Undergraduate Students\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">IRBNet Protocol Number:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a01560898-2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Study Purpose and Rationale<\/u><\/strong><br>The purpose of the research is to examine factors that influence pre-service students&#8217; motivations to become teachers, and how these factors may change over time.&nbsp;This research project will compare the results from surveys to determine if there are differences in responses from the fall semester to the spring semester during the academic year of 2020-21.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Inclusion\/Exclusion Criteria<\/u><\/strong><br>To be eligible to participate in this study, you must be 18 years or older and be enrolled in an undergraduate teacher education course in the Educational Psychology department, or the Elementary Education department at Ball State University during the fall of 2020.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Participation Procedures and Duration<\/u><\/strong><br>For this project, you will be asked to complete a survey about your reasons for wanting to become a teacher.\u00a0\u00a0It will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete the survey.\u00a0\u00a0If you consent to participate in this study, you will be redirected to the survey.\u00a0\u00a0In the spring semester, we will contact you by email and send you the link to the same survey to complete at the end of the spring semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Principal Investigator:<\/strong> Kiara M.
