Family Communication Patterns and Self-Efficacy Development

Purpose and Procedure: This study examines the relationship between family communication patterns, parental control, and the development of self-efficacy in college students. If you choose to participate, the online survey includes demographic information as well as several questions about communication in your family, your level of confidence in several domains, and your primary caregiver’s parenting style. This study has been approved by the Ball State University Institutional Review Board. (IRBNet number: 1383989-1)

Participation Method: Online survey

Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria: To be eligible to participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and must be an undergraduate student at Ball State University.

Compensation: 0.25 hours of research credit for students enrolled in Educational Psychology (EDPS) classes.

Expected time of completion: 15 minutes
