Study Purpose and Rationale: The study examines the factors related to students’ social life on campus and on social media. We want to understand the factors leading to quality social life on campus and on social media and how they might be related. The results will help us to identify ways to support college students to build meaningful and satisfying relationships.
Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria: Students who are 18 or older are invited to participate. Given the study’s focus on both on campus and on social media social satisfaction, students with no social media account will not be eligible to participate
Participation Procedures and Duration: This study will collect basic information about you, your social life on campus, how you spend time on social media, and your general level of social satisfaction. If you choose to participate, you will be directed to an anonymous survey. It will take about 30 minutes of your time to complete the survey.
Compensation/Incentives: You will have an equal opportunity to receive one of 25 $20 tango cards. Your contact information for receiving a gift card will be shared with Tango. You will receive a generic email from Tango, not the principal investigator, on how to redeem the gift card. You will also receive extra credit from your instructor, as determined by your course policy.
