iPads Help Level the Playing Field

Technology is integrated into the curriculum through the use of iPads. Students utilize the iPads through skill building and practice, creating projects, and researching classroom topics as well individualized projects. The iPads also help in the differentiation for all learners.

Issues this Best Practice Addresses:

Through the use of iPads students are allowed different creative outputs, allows individualized projects, extra and extended skill practice, and integrates the visual and auditory arts with other subjects. Technology use also allows for immediate access to information that is relevant to classroom topics.

Major Challenges to Implementation:

One of the major challenges using technology is the aging equipment with no known replacement plan. There is not enough tech support for our school. The management of iPads usage on the Internet websites is also a major concern. Some programs that have been purchased are not supported by the iPad format.

Benefits Derived from Implementing this Best Practice:

In the classroom the students have an excitement about learning when it involves the use of the iPads. It encourages reasoning, integrates subject matter, improves language arts, and presentation skills
